The White Cliffs Pharmacy and associated convenience store was constructed next to the existing White Cliffs doctor’s surgery. The buildings were joined with a link between the two buildings, enabling patients to walk directly from the surgery to the new pharmacy and shop.
The project commenced with the demolition of two dilapidated dwellings that previously occupied the site.
The new build construction methods consisted of piled foundations with reinforced concrete ring beams, a steel frame, pre-cast concrete planks to the first floor and traditional brick/block cavity external walls. External weatherboarding was adopted on certain facades and a trussed roof with slate tiles complimented the adjacent doctor’s surgery giving the impression that the buildings had always been constructed as one.
On completion of our shell and core works we remained on site, working in conjunction with the Clients own fit out contractor. This ensured the final stages of the project ran smoothly enabling both the pharmacy and convenience store to open on their critical deadlines.
All of the works both internally and externally were completed in constant consultation with the busy doctors surgery, in order to keep any disruption to a minimum.
