Demelza House

The Watch House, Littlestone

‘I wanted to write to say how impressed I have been with Abbott’s dedication to finish the job, it is so common to find the contractor lose interest once the contract has been technically completed. Abbott’s have been outstanding in making sure that we were satisfied.’

The project comprised a large extension to the front of the hospice and various internal alterations. The works also included the construction of a new teaching and dance room block within the confines of the campus.

Restrictive access provided for a challenging build as a result of the proximity of the new building to the existing one. Day to day activities were maintained without disruption by forming a temporary access route across the front gardens.

The new extension is used as a soft play area for the children and is a steel framed construction with brickwork and blockwork walls. A lift was also installed. The internal alterations were for the refurbishment of the existing wet area and other play facilities.
