Following a continued succession of projects for the Pavilion Property Group over the past eight years, Amandos Court became the latest property to join their student accommodation portfolio at the Parham Road site.
The project started with the demolition of the former scout hall that previously occupied the site. Demolition works were followed with an archaeology excavation in the search for the old Roman road that was expected to pass through the site and other interests dating back to the Roman era.
The construction of the new property was completed to accommodate the requirements of Canterbury Christchurch University; the hand over date of the property was fixed for the new intake of students as has become a normal routine for the projects at Parham Road. The archaeology interest on the site made the construction period shorter to ensure that the project was handed over as required by the University.
The Ground and first floors of the corner plot were designed as a Café with a student apartment on the top floor. The remainder of the building consisted of four three storey town house type dwellings which took almost the entire footprint of the plot of land on which it was built.
Amandos Court constructed on the busy corner of Parham Road and Sturry Road completed the planned developments along the original stretch of Parham Road on what has now become an active student residential area.
