Hookfield House, Wickhambreaux
We were successful in a tendering situation for this
two phased extension and alterations project.
Phase 1.
Following minor demolitions of existing smaller extensions,
we carried out the build of a single-storey utility
room and office extension. This comprised of traditional
materials including handmade bricks, lime mortar and
clay tiles. The works were successfully co-ordinated
with the client while in full occupation of the house.
Phase 2.
The works comprised the removal of the rear of the existing
house and the construction of a two-storey extension
and timber framed garden room. Again the materials used
were handmade bricks with lime mortar and with the upmost
importance to match the existing fabric of the building.
Even now it is very difficult to see the joints between
new and old. On completion of the inside we worked very
closely with the client in carrying out areas of timber
decking, hard landscaping and tree planting.
The project was completed on time and to budget.
