Abbott Construction was awarded the contract to demolish the existing structures to allow the creation of a new classroom block along with adjoining and connecting corridors for an assembly hall and gymnasium.

The project had to be carefully planned because of the difficult access into the site, the general workability of the school and maintaining the teaching areas. Part of the development provided facilities for pre-school learning.

The development was on various levels that eventually joined up to a link corridor to the existing facilities. The project was completed on time to coincide with the commencement of the new term.

David Pentin, Lord Mayor of Canterbury, opened the new facility.
