Kent College, Canterbury
The governors of Kent College invited Abbott Construction
to tender for refurbishment, alteration and new build
to upgrade their existing site to modern day standards.
Abbott Construction worked closely with the school's
Architects Lee Evans Partnership along with the structural
engineers Holt & Wotton in arriving at a cost that
provided value for money. The projects have ranged in
value from £50,000 to £750,000 and we have
been working in partnership with Kent College and the
professional team for over 2½ years. During this
time we have all worked together to provide results
which have imposed minimal interference with the day
to day activities of the school
The works carried out at the College have comprised:
-
- The refurbishment of 4 classrooms to provide new
Physics and Science teaching facilities and to integrate
the Library within the main School building.
- Provision of a medical centre with quiet rooms,
ward facilities and interview rooms
- Construction of a new 12 classroom teaching block
- Conversion of the existing dormitory block to a
state of the art library.
- Alterations to provide additional classrooms and
music centre following the relocation of the old library
