This project comprised the construction of a new teaching
and dance room block within the confines of the School
campus.
The new build was technically challenging and difficult
because of the tight access into the site and the location
of the new structure in relation to the surrounding
existing buildings.
The new block is attached to the existing gymnasium.
The new dance floor is at the same level as the existing
gymnasium and the classrooms are at lower ground floor
level. The new works involved the removal of a raised
external seating area and the underpinning of the gymnasium.
A temporary walkway was also constructed around the
perimeter of the new build area to provide the school
with continual pupil access to other classrooms at the
lower end of the site.
